Overview

Check-in to a unique lodge-style bungalow, each one boasting plush beds with organic cotton linen and large bathrooms with high-pressure showers. Built on stilts overlooking the floodplains and featuring mesh walls, the bungalows invite you to get closer to nature, heightened through the absence of televisions, telephones and internet access. With décor reflecting the region's history you can expect to see buffalo horns, explorers maps, aboriginal art work as well as old photographs introducing the heritage of the area. There is also one Kingfisher Suite, an expansive space ideal for families, and the private oasis of the Jabiru Retreat, two bungalows connected by a private plunge pool and seating area and perfect for larger groups of guests.

Kingfisher Suite

A secluded slice of luxury with captivating floodplain views, the largest of the safari bungalows is a spacious 81m² and offers a king bedroom, lounge and dining area. The ample space is ideal for families, with children accommodated in deluxe swag beds but is equally suited to couples, who are sure to love the panoramic views across the bush through the floor-to-ceiling mesh walls that allow you to see out, but offer complete privacy inside.

Jabiru Retreat

Consisting of two 31m² safari bungalows linked via a raised walkway leading to an exclusive-use plunge pool, this is a 'camp within a camp' perfect for groups of friends or families. An al fresco lounge and dining area overlooking the plains is a fantastic place to relax and dine surrounded by nature.

Overview

Bamurru Plains is an all-inclusive safari-style experience with all meals and drinks included in your stay. Incorporating seasonal, local ingredients, the lodge's Head Chef designs a gourmet daily menu that is fresh and full of flavour. From wild barramudi with finger lime salsa, to kangaroo skewers or warm emu salad with pepper and strawberry dressing, you can expect to sample dishes that are authentically Australian. Lunch might be served on the wildlife observation deck overlooking the floodplains while watching a changing cast of birds, buffalo and wallabies, canapes and sundowners can be enjoyed out in the wilderness during your afternoon activity or on the lodge deck just before dinner and, in the evening, a sumptuous three course dinner is served at a long timber table along with your fellow guests and field guides, offering the perfect combination of gastronomy and socialising.
