This classic Art Deco building offers such a true sense of place with one foot in its timeless heritage but also facing forwards to the future. Think leafy courtyard gardens, a gorgeous rooftop bar, and an exceptional restaurant, the Balfour Kitchen and Bar, which takes ethically sourced seafood and sustainably farmed meat and creates sublime Vietnamese dishes which constantly evolve. The 17 rooms and suites lie across two buildings and offer distinctly different feels but offer every creature comfort. The streets surrounding Spicers Balfour are packed with much-loved cafes, superb restaurants, vibrant bars, and stylish boutiques, while the nearby Brisbane River offers a peaceful and leafy sanctuary. Central Brisbane is only a 15-minute walk away and whilst Spicers Balfour is a big step away from the traditional city hotel it delivers a unique and indulgent experience and is the perfect way to discover both the well-known and more hidden sides to this vibrant Queensland city.

Climate

Gold Coast experiences a sub-tropical climate During the summer months of December to February is when the Gold Coast experiences most of its annual rainfall. The average temperatures range between 20°C and 28°C. The hot days are often followed by tropical storms at night. This is an ideal time of year to visit the rainforests and mountain creeks that surround the Gold Coast.

Winter on the Gold Coast sees whales visiting the coast line, the cooler days are great days to get out on the water to whale watch. The cooler temperatures mean that there is also less humidity and less rain so it is the perfect time to spend at the beach and surfing.

The autumn days, March to May, are generally sunny and warm followed by equally warm nights and drier than the summer days. The humidity is lower as well. Autumn on the Gold Coast is the perfect time to enjoy sailing and other water sports due to the winds still being strong and tropical storms being less frequent.

Spring is similar to autumn on the Gold Coast; with a rising humidity as September to November roll by with increasing rainfall and temperatures. This is also the windiest part of the year for the Gold Coast so sports such as sailing, wind surfing, kite surfing and kite boarding are perfect to enjoy.
