Luxury Holidays At Selinda Camp
Located in one of the most pristine wilderness areas left on the planet, Selinda Camp sits beside the banks of the eastern Selinda Spillway in northern Botswana. Accessed by light aircraft only, this remote and remarkable 320,000-acre private Selinda Reserve is an important centre for research, with the camp proving to be a conservation success story since 2007. Surrounded by Borassus palms, the lodge boasts billowing silk drapes, teak wood furnishings and rich leather sofas framed by dark wood pillars. Such incredible wildlife, indulgent tented villas and fully inclusive rates, make for an outstanding safari experience. With just 16 guests and 8 tented villas, including one Family Room for families with children over 6 years of age, guests can enjoy the tranquillity of the area with plenty of space to themselves.
Twice-daily game drives in an open 4x4 game vehicle, are complemented with boat-based safari excursions and guided bush walk activities. During the heat of the day, guests can relax beside the pool, retreat to the library, indulge in a massage or take part in a photographic workshop with ‘Wild Studio’. For dinner, guests can opt to dine under the magnificent star-sprinkled skies, within the wine cellar or within the privacy of their tented villa. An ancient waterway flowing in two directions, the Selinda Spillway links the far reaches of the vast Okavango Delta in the south, with the Linyanti wetlands in the west — receiving water from both directions. To the far west of the camp, lies the Savute Channel, the famous Chobe region and the mighty Zambezi. With large herds of elephant and buffalo, endangered African wild dog and spectacular birdlife, Selinda Camp’s extensive raised decks provide extraordinary game viewing across the endless floodplains. Simply gaze through the lodge’s Swarovski binoculars and watch the wonders of nature unfold.
