Spa Breaks

In Sanskrit, Sukh is defined as ‘a state of sustained happiness as opposed to transient pleasure’, and this is what the range of wellness programmes here aim to create. Ranging from five nights to three weeks long, these bespoke itineraries focus on an array of wellbeing goals - including digital detoxes, weight management and mindfulness. Filled with natural light from its huge windows and boasting outdoor terraces that overlook the forest, The Oberoi Spa offers treatments that draw inspiration from around the globe - including traditional Ayurvedic rituals, Chinese acupressure and indulgent hammam scrubs. An outdoor swimming pool, gym, yoga and ancient Japanese ‘forest bathing’ can also be enjoyed.

Spirituality and Wellness

As well as adventure pursuits, the scenic serenity of the mountains, lakes and rivers lend themselves easily to rest and relaxation. The charming town of Rishikesh, less than an hour by road from Ananda in The Himalayas, has become synonymous with yoga, meditation and mindfulness, home to several spiritual centres – locally known as ashrams. The town was famously visited by The Beatles in 1968, there to attend a transcendental meditation session at the Ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Now aptly known as the Beatles Ashram, you can visit this iconic building, part of Rajaji National Park.
