Luxury Holidays At Chablé Maroma

Lying on the glorious beaches of the Riviera Maya in Punta Maroma, this stunning resort is a place where you come to explore ancient Mayan ruins, dine on exceptional Mexican cuisine, and relax under the warmth of the dazzling Caribbean sun. The Chablé Maroma is also a place that puts wellness front and centre stage. Taking their lead from the spiritual Mayan culture but uniquely paired with modern science, the spa here is a unique nature-driven experience. 70 stunning villas are dotted throughout the resort, each offering warm wooden floors, local stone, and a restful colour palate of turquoise and aquamarine with thatched roofs hanging like untamed eyebrows over shady private decks and foliage-surrounded pools. Head for the beach for soft white sand and the bluest of seas where activities such as kayaking and stand-up paddle boards are included, it also overlooks the second largest barrier reef in the world. Alternatively, the infinity swimming pool overlooking the beach is a very pleasant spot to spend the day. There’s a pool bar with sun lounger service so you can stay refreshed and hydrated without moving too far if you so desire. Outside the resort confines there are ancient cenotes, offshore islands, and the Mayan complex of Chichen Itza, while the cliff-top fortifications of Tulum are a great adventure for those looking to discover something new.

Climate

Though it can be enjoyed throughout the year, the dry season - from December to April - is the best time to visit Riviera Maya for pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunshine.

Getting There

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic direct from London Gatwick to Cancun in around 10 hours.

Mayan Ruins

Surrounded by thick jungle, the renowned ruins of the ancient Mayan city of Coba can be reached in around 1 hour 30 minutes by car from Playa del Carmen. Located between two lakes, the city – founded in around 100AD - is home to several large temple pyramids – including the main one, Nohoch Mul, which stands at 138-feet tall! Also in the region, Tulum is an ancient Mayan port that combines fascinating history with pristine beaches. The main building is a large stone castle perched on a cliff, while the Parque Nacional Tulum is home to mangroves and cenotes.

Mayan Ruins
The Great Mayan Reef

One of the great global dive spots, the Great Mayan Reef is the planet’s second largest barrier reef, stretching 450 miles from Cancun to Honduras. Thanks to the diversity in its marine life – which includes manta ray, dolphin and whale shark - the reef’s warm, crystalline waters boast sensational sites for diving and snorkelling.

The Great Mayan Reef
Cenotes

Cenotes are striking natural sinkholes filled with crystal-blue water and illuminated stalactites and stalagmites, dotted along Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Swim, snorkel or dive in these enchanting limestone caves, once considered as sacred gateways to the underworld by the ancient Mayans. A sustainable tourism project, Parque Dos Ojos is one of the largest underwater cave systems in the world with some 30 cenotes spreading across 83km!

Cenotes
Beaches

Featuring more than 160-kilometres of coastline, the Riviera Maya boasts simply spectacular stretches of pristine, white sandy beaches, lapped by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Soak up the glorious Mexican sunshine or head into the wonderfully warm waves.
