Luxury Holidays At Singita Faru Faru Lodge

Singita Faru Faru Lodge takes its inspiration from a botanist’s camp and offers barefoot elegance in a laid-back, rustic style. Set on a small rocky bluff overlooking two waterholes and the riverine forest beyond, the camp has been designed with light spaces and neutral tones to blend into the environment. Just nine suites face out onto the plain and huge glass windows maximise breathtaking views of the natural habitat. Each suite features a bathroom with a bath, an alfresco shower, a deck with a telescope and a capricious mix of interiors combining contemporary textiles and natural materials. The Villa Suite is perfect for two couples travelling together and boasts two identical bedrooms with en suites each featuring a bath and outdoor shower, plus a shared open-plan lounge and dining area. Activities include twice-daily game-drives, accompanied by a Guide, and walks along the Grumeti River.

Safari

Climb up into a state-of-the-art Land Rover and enjoy the daily game-drives with professional guides, who provide the opportunity to get up close to Africa's most incredible animals. On the game-drive, you are likely to spot an exciting variety of wildlife, including giraffes, lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, wilderbeest, Bat-eared Foxes and the rare Colobus Monkey. Usually between January and mid-March almost 400,000 wilderbeest calves are born and bush walks are an exciting way to get up-close-and-personal with the animals. You will be accompanied with a professional guide and tracker, as you search for animals on foot and gain a greater understanding of the landscape and animals around you.

Relish the truly breathtaking scenery of Singita Grumeti as you discover the magic of the safari experience whilst being in close proximity to wildlife - it is sure to help your children engage with the wonder of Africa. Activities are tailored to suit the requirements of each family and a Mini Rangers' course exposes children to a whole world of adventure, including tracking animals, learning bush survival techniques and participating in a ranger's test, before being awarded a certificate to recognise their accomplishments. Babysitting is also available.

Wildlife

The vast Serengeti National Park covers an area of nearly 13,000 square kilometres and is home to resident populations of lion, cheetah, giraffe and elephant. Rhinoceros, zebra and gazelles can also be seen grazing on the open plains, whilst hippopotamus wallow in the rivers. With 500 recorded bird species, this is truly a wildlife paradise.  With the annual wildebeest and zebra migration passing through the park, it’s no wonder the Serengeti National Park is on most people’s bucket list.

Wildlife
The Great Migration

One of the most spectacular wildlife experiences in the world can be seen in the Serengeti National Park, when over two-million wildebeest and half-a-million zebra migrate across the plains, in search of nutritious grass shoots, following the annual rains. It’s hard to comprehend the sheer volume of animals until you witness first-hand the vast herds as far as the eye can see.

The Great Migration
Walking Safaris

Accompanied by an experienced guide and armed ranger, a walking safari is a great way to gain a greater insight into the eco-systems of the Serengeti. Learn how to identify the tracks of animals , as well as which plants are used for medicinal purposes by the Maasai, as you journey on foot.
