Luxury Holidays At Singita Sabora Tented Camp

Singita Sabora Tented Camp offers the kind of romantic 'Out of Africa' safari experience that Hemingway and Karen Blixen would have enjoyed. The vintage-inspired lodge harks back to the 1920s, effortlessly combining modern safari excursions with nostalgic surroundings; lavish tents are furnished with Persian rugs, silk curtains and antique furnishings, while modern conveniences remind you that you are still in the 21st century. The main area comprises a dining room, library, swimming pool and bar/lounge, complete with satellite television and DVD player, while the external deck provides unbeatable views across the grasslands, stretching as far as the eye can see. Daily wildlife drives in open Land Rovers (led by experienced Guides) are interspersed with mealtimes - gourmet cuisine is created from locally grown organic produce accompanied by a selection of world-class wines from the vast Singita cellars and served at tables set with crisp, white Irish linen, the finest porcelain and crystal goblets. Evenings are spent devoted to the quieter pursuits of star-gazing or trading stories around the campfire. Why not enjoy a sundowner fronting the vast plains of northern Serengeti and inhale the ambience of vintage Africa?

Wildlife

The vast Serengeti National Park covers an area of nearly 13,000 square kilometres and is home to resident populations of lion, cheetah, giraffe and elephant. Rhinoceros, zebra and gazelles can also be seen grazing on the open plains, whilst hippopotamus wallow in the rivers. With 500 recorded bird species, this is truly a wildlife paradise.  With the annual wildebeest and zebra migration passing through the park, it’s no wonder the Serengeti National Park is on most people’s bucket list.

Wildlife
The Great Migration

One of the most spectacular wildlife experiences in the world can be seen in the Serengeti National Park, when over two-million wildebeest and half-a-million zebra migrate across the plains, in search of nutritious grass shoots, following the annual rains. It’s hard to comprehend the sheer volume of animals until you witness first-hand the vast herds as far as the eye can see.
