Luxury Holidays At Rayavadee

Set as it is on a beautiful stretch of Southern Thailand’s dramatic Phranang Peninsula, the only way to reach Rayavadee is by boat; its three gorgeous shorelines, crowned by vast jagged limestone cliffs, are just a hint of what’s to come. This resort is a real Thai treasure, where guests cannot help but be captivated by the natural beauty of the landscape, white sand beaches and the sapphire coloured waters of the Andaman Sea.

Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of a traditional Thai village, the award-winningly designed, two-storey pavilions are set amidst lush gardens, with floor-to-ceiling bay windows accenting the surrounding foliage. This is a tropical wonderland, with beautiful plants and wildlife on vivid display throughout the resort. In most accommodations, relaxing living rooms are situated on the ground floor, whilst bedrooms are on the upper floor, accessed by a curved staircase. Interiors feature dark woods complemented by neutral tones and beautiful Thai handcrafted details. This is undoubtedly a romantic hideaway setting, perfect for a honeymoon.

Where Rayavadee really wows is with its unique scenery and landscape. With activities such as fascinating nature walks through the resort, and excursions to the stunning nearby locales of Phi Phi Island, Hong Island, Poda Island and Ao-Nang, you’ll never be short of smile-raising experiences to enjoy. Whether guests choose to be active and hike the region on foot, take to the crystal clear waters and sail or dive the marine-rich sea - they will be well rewarded. Of course, if it is relaxation that guests are seeking, they can simply relax and admire the beautiful scenery from the privacy of the resort, their own Pavilion or Villa, or the inviting spa. There’s also a Fitness Centre, tennis and squash courts, plus a small but beautifully stocked boutique. Guests can also take part in cultural classes, such as Thai cooking, batik printing and traditional fruit carving.

Climate

Krabi’s tropical monsoon climate means it’s warm year round. The two hottest periods fall between April/ May and September/October (also the wettest time) making the period from November to March probably the best time to visit when it’s not so humid and there are cooling breezes to be enjoyed.

Temples

Wat Tham Sua (Tiger Cave Temple) is one of southern Thailand's most famous temples. Set in a beautiful forest, there are two parts to visit - the Khiriwong Valley nature trail, with its maze of caves and the main Tiger Cave and bell tower. Climb the 1,237 steps, to the top of the mountain but beware, the climb is strenuous and should not be taken lightly, however the summit offers breathless views of the province and a wonderful statue of Buddha.

Temples
Scuba Diving

The Andaman Sea boasts some of the best diving sites in the world and the best diving in Thailand by far. Depths can vary from 4 to 20m and visibility can be up to 15m. The lovely Phi Phi islands are a 45-minute speedboat jaunt or a 90-minute ferryboat ride from Krabi Town – paradise perfected, these picture postcard islands are world-famous amongst scuba divers.

Wildlife

Krabi’s pristine Mangrove forest is home to an astonishing variety of birds, including species such as Gurney’s Pittas, Brown-winged Kingfishers, Flame backs, Pacific Reef Eagles and Dollarbirds.

Wildlife
National Marine Park

Considered to be amongst the most beautiful in Krabi province, the four Hong Islands, belonging to the National Marine Park, are easily accessible from Ao Nang. The main island, Koh Hong, uninhabited, except for birds, white-faced gibbons and giant monitor lizards, features a large lagoon where a rather unique occurrence takes place at low tide when the diminishing waters of the chamber or ‘hong’ to which its Thai name refers, change colour from a deep emerald green to a clear turquoise.
