Overview

A dreamy and diverse country that always offers something new to explore. On this trip, we will take you on a fabulous itinerary starting in Palermo to embrace the cultural and foodie highlights of the city as well as the Valley of the Temples before heading to the beautiful Aeolian Island of Salina to sample some stunning coastline and delicious culinary delights. Then it’s off to Taormina where the magic of Sicily continues. You will have a chance to stroll around this beautiful city as well as explore Mount Etna and visit Syracuse, another impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a wonderful trip for immersing into some of the best cultural encounters, culinary delights and coastal landscapes that the country has to offer.

Day 1 to 3 Accommodation

Palermo

Arriving in Sicily you will be met at the airport and transferred by your private driver to Villa Igiea, your luxurious base for three nights. Start exploring this fascinating city celebrated for its dynamic mix of architectural styles from the Byzantine to the Baroque, and there is no better way to explore this wonderful Sicilian city and its hidden cultural and foodie treasures than with a private guide. Your guide will take you downtown taking in the stunning Baroque architecture, picturesque boulevards, busy stores and bustling markets, as well as the Cathedral of Monreale and the Valley of the Temples, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Day 4 to 7 Accommodation

Aeolian Islands

En route to the Port of Milazzo where you will take the ferry to the Aeolian islands, you will stop and explore Cefalu, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with an expert guide. After the short hydrofoil ferry to the island of Salina, you will check into Hotel Signum, a small charming family-run hotel surrounded by scented lime trees, bougainvillea and honeysuckle overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Whilst on this stunning island, you will have a chance to relax and enjoy an authentic culinary tour, as well as take a memorable boat trip around the Aeolian Islands.

Day 8 to 11 Accommodation

Taormina

After breakfast, you will be transported to the port, where the public ferry will take you to Milazzo before you travel to Taormina for your final days. As well as exploring this beautiful city by foot accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, you will have the chance to experience the mighty Mount Etna by Jeep, and discover the secrets of Syracuse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a delicious lunch at a typical ‘Salumeria’ before your return flight to the UK.
