Overview

Tour the East Coast on an exciting American adventure, travelling by train between iconic cities full of must-see sights and vibrant culture, as well as stopping to sample New England’s coastal charm. Start in the country’s capital, Washington D.C., before hopping on an Amtrak train to New York’s world-famous Penn Station, the gateway to a world of urban attractions. Enjoy a coastal interlude in Rhode Island as you travel north, rejuvenating with breezy beach walks and succulent seafood, before ending your escapade in the culture-rich city of Boston, where you can explore art, science and gastronomic delights.

Day 1 to 3 Accommodation

Washington, D.C.

Start your journey in Washington D.C., one of the most powerful capital cities in the world. Take a private car transfer from Washington Dulles Airport to Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown and spend three days staying in the city’s fashionable West End, an ideal base from which to explore. Wonder at the magnificence of the White House, the US Capitol Building and the Supreme Court before visiting world-famous monuments including the Washington Memorial, the Battle of Iwo Jima Memorial and the Smithsonian Institute.

Day 4 to 6 Accommodation

New York City

Travel by business class train to New York’s Penn Station and take a transfer to The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel. Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, there’s always so much to do in ‘the city that never sleeps’. Wander to well-known attractions such as Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street and Times Square or shop ‘til you drop in the Upper East Side’s designer boutiques by day and discover the city’s vibrant nightlife and renowned culinary scene by night.

Day 7 to 10 Accommodation

Westerly, Rhode Island

Board the train from New York to travel along the coast to Westerly in Rhode Island. Check in to your hotel for the next four nights, Ocean House at Watch Hill, an elegant oceanfront property with sweeping sea views. With soft sand beaches, beautiful waters and a quintessentially Rhode Island vibe, Watch Hill is the perfect place to indulge in fresh seafood and vacation like a local in between New York and Boston.

Day 11 to 14 Accommodation

Boston

After a short rail journey, arrive at Boston's South Station and transfer to Raffles Boston for a three night stay. The first offering of Raffles’ irreplicable luxury in the USA, Raffles Boston is ideally positioned in Boston’s most prestigious neighbourhood. The city offers world-class museums and no end of historic sites along the Freedom Trail and is a destination made for walking and cycling, with parks, rivers and harbourfront trails all waiting to be discovered, along with diverse, characterful neighbourhoods to explore. On day 14, transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
