Mashpi Lodge is a contemporary eco lodge that sits on a plateau nine-hundred metres above sea level in the Mashpi Rainforest Biodiversity Reserve, which comprises montane rainforest and cloud forest. This unique position offers the nature-lover a phenomenal opportunity to discover the plethora of plants, birds and mammals that have made the rainforest their home, whilst enjoying the natural splendour of forested hills, punctuated by cascading waterfalls. There are plenty of activities to help you to discover more of your unique surroundings, from walks along nature trails to riding the lodge's Sky Bike above the forest canopy. Literally a hideaway in the clouds, guests can relax amidst the calming minimalist interiors, which serve to enhance the dramatic views of the forest from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. As you may imagine, Mashpi Lodge is as environmentally-friendly as possible and has been built using sustainable techniques and materials, while water comes from the local rivers and is biologically filtered and treated before it returns to the forest. Bathroom soaps and shampoos, provided for guests by the Lodge, are all biodegradable, so that this process is not affected.
