With a rich history rolling back through time to the late 1700s Passalacqua is one the original grand palazzos of Lake Como. At its core is a desire to celebrate the timelessly classical Italian way of life. The opulent and glamorous design features exquisite attention to detail and a truly authentic colour palette. With just 24 rooms and suites the levels of service are exceptional, and staff go out of their way to exceed expectations. Ornate mouldings, frescos and sparkling chandeliers adorn the rooms and through the windows, magical views of the original villa or the mountain-framed waters of Lake Como. In keeping with the villa’s long past as a private residence, dining here takes on a home-from-home approach, where your every culinary desire is catered for and guests are invited to dine when, where, and on whatever they want. Menus are provided but guests frequently stop by the kitchen to lend a hand and order whatever tickles their taste buds. Days are spent wandering the achingly pretty lakeside towns, sailing the cool waters of the lake, snoozing by the lakeside pool, or retreating to the atmospheric spa set amongst the soaring vaults and ancient columns of the old hall. Embracing the Italian ethos of La Dolce Vita, or the ‘sweet life’ this is where you throw your cares to the wind and allow the romance of Lake Como to take over.
