Beautiful Waterfalls

South-Iceland is blessed with a number of stunning waterfalls. The 60-metre-high Seljalandsfoss falls is one of the best-known in Iceland, flowing from the famous Eyjafjallajokull glacier. A footpath leads you behind the falls so if you’re not afraid to get a little wet, you can walk through to the other side. Another spectacular sight is the Reynisdrangar basalt sea stacks located along the black sands of the Reynisfjara beach below, where waves of the North Atlantic spectacularly break. Another highlight just 30 kilometres away is Skogarfoss, one of Iceland‘s biggest and most beautiful waterfalls that tumbles over a cliff, marking the country's former coastline.

Beautiful Waterfalls
Horseback Riding

The Icelandic Horse is a unique breed and a national treasure, descending from the horses of the first settlers imported from Norway in the 9th century. As they are known for their intelligence and friendly character, horse-riding tours for all abilities are highly recommended, allowing you to connect with these fascinating creatures as you explore the stunning scenery of moss-covered lava fields and soft black lava sand on the beach.

Horseback Riding
Westman Islands

Take a private boat to the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar), an archipelago of 15 islands off Iceland’s South coast. Explore the only inhabited island of Heimaey, to witness the largest puffin colony in the world, walk around lava fields and hike along beautiful trails some 900 foot above sea-level, offering incredible vistas. Other activities include boat tours around the islands, passing in and out of caves along the way, visiting the Eldheimar museum to learn more about the 1973 volcanic eruption, and Sæheimar Natural History Museum and Aquarium, full of information about the island’s native birds.
