Luxury Holidays At Mahali Mzuri

True to its name, Mahali Mzuri (Swahili for 'beautiful place') is set within the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, boarding one of Africa's most famous game reserves, right in the middle of the path of the annual migration. Just twelve remarkable, cutting-edge, canopied tents (two of which are Family Suites) are built to suit the local climate and terrain and sit on raised platforms with terraces from which guests will be able to enjoy front row views of the abundant wildlife. The Main Tent - with a lounge, viewing deck and modern conveniences, such as iPads - is accessed by a shared walkway. Guests can enjoy twice-daily game-drives with our experienced Maasai guides, visits to the local Maasai community to learn more about their culture and way of life or relax with a treatment within the Nasaro Spa. The striking 'arrow-inspired' tented accommodation and infinity-edge pool are a great place to unwind and to reflect. The large game and vast open plains make this an unforgettable experience - a true adventure in culture-rich Kenya.

You’ll spot a diverse range of wildlife and birdlife on your twice-daily game-drives (in open vehicles) throughout the Olare Motorogi Conservancies, in particular the topi (an antelope only native to this area), hippopotamus, warthogs and hyaenas.

Whilst staying at Mahali Mazuri, visit one of the Maasai villages in the local area and immerse yourself in their fascinating and welcoming culture. Discover the Maasai's daily life in the Mara as you learn about the local Maasai Tribe and their pastoralist customs. Travel just ten minutes in the morning and help milk the cattle or in the evening and help herd the cattle and goats back into their enclosures for the night. A further five-minute drive takes you to a local school where you can meet Maasai children and Mahali Mzuri's guides will introduce you to their families as you discover more about their cultures and traditions.

Luxury Family Holidays

Families (with childrens older than two years) are warmly welcomed at Mahali Mzuri and dedicated tents include children's beds and games. Little ones must be over six years old to accompany their parents on group game drives. In order for children under the age of six to go on game drives, a private closed vehicle must be hired for an extra fee per day. They provide children's car seats too.

Flight Information
British Airways direct from London Heathrow to Nairobi.
Via Dubai with Emirates from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.

Flight Time
From London Heathrow to Nairobi: 8 hours, 25 minutes.

From Nairobi, an onward flight will take you to the Maasai Mara airstrip in around one hour.

Wildlife

Home to the ‘Big Five’ as well as cheetah, warthog, zebra and some 570 bird species, there is plenty to look out for on your Maasai Mara safari. Guests visiting between July to October may be able to witness one of the greatest wildlife spectaculars on the planet – the Great Migration. Watch as millions of wildebeest and zebra graze the fresh shoots whilst hungry predators lie in wait.
