Luxury Holidays On Board Silolona

Silolana is a traditional, teakwood, two-masted sailing yacht with modern and sumptuous interiors and plenty of Indonesian style. There are five spacious staterooms, all with en suite shower and toilet, a teak lounge and dining area with large windows, as well as an on-deck dining area – where you can enjoy Chef’s International cuisine with an Asian flair – and a well-equipped dive area. Many of the islands you may visit have bays of turquoise water and coral reefs – perfect for diving or snorkelling from the boat, or you may wish to simply enjoy dreamy walks along the beach. In addition to your crew of seventeen, you will also have the services of a Trip Leader and a PADI Dive Instructor to really get the most out of the places you visit.

Climate

The whole of Malaysia has a classic equatorial climate, with a combination of high temperatures and wet months throughout the year. A beach holiday can be enjoyed all year round, as the east and west coasts experience their wet months at alternate times - the wet season on the east coast (November to February) is when the west coast experiences sunny, dry weather. On the other hand, the wettest months on the west coast (April to October) are the driest months in the east.

Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur

Visit one of Kuala Lumpur’s and Malaysia’s most iconic buildings, the Petronas Towers, a magnificent 88-storey twin tower structure which is the tallest pair of buildings in the world. The gleaming stainless steel towers were designed by Argentinean architect, César Pelli for the Petronas (oil and gas company) headquarters. The towers resemble two silver rockets and provide the perfect symbol for Kuala Lumpur’s rise from tin mining, to a 21st century metropolis. Allow us to book your tickets online to view this magnificent city from the, even more impressive, Observation Deck, located on the 86th floor, providing brilliant sweeping views.

Shopping, Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is a brilliant destination for shopping aficionados, where the entire day could be spent in flash, air-conditioned malls searching for your favourite designer brands at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Mid Valley Mega Mall or Suria KLCC. If you fancy more low key shops with lesser-known labels, then Publika and Bangsar are perfect, or for holiday keepsakes, explore Central Market for locally made handicrafts and souvenirs. For a brilliant and totally unique shopping experience, visit the last few remaining artisans and antique dealerships in Chinatown and hunt for a brilliant deal.

Panorama Langkawi

View Langkawi from atop the majestic Gunung Machinchang, which stands at 708 metres. Take a twenty-minute SkyCab to the top – enjoying extraordinary views along the way – and discover unimaginable panoramic vistas across the island. Those daring enough can walk along the SkyBridge, a single-span suspension bridge soaring a staggering 100 metres above the jungle canopy below – it will certainly get your adrenaline surging.

Temples

Malaysia is home to an array of striking Chinese temples that have stood the test of time. Kuala Lumpur boasts an eclectic range of Chinese temples, including Sin Sze Si Ya Temple – the oldest Chinese temple in Kuala Lumpur – built on the orders of Kapitan Yap Ah Loy. Dedicated to Sin Sze Ya ans Si Sze Ya, it is still as important today as it was when it opened in 1883. Explore Thean Hou Temple, an imposing multi-storey Chinese temple dedicated to Thean Hou. It’s a huge tourist attraction, especially during Chinese festival periods and the birthdays of various temple gods. A must-visit in Terengganu is Ho Ann Kiong, a fascinating, vibrant red and gold structure that dates back to 1796.
