place Day 1 to 3 Kigali, Rwanda
Day 1 to 3 Accommodation

Kigali, Rwanda

Rwanda’s capital Kigali is a wonderfully clean, green low-rise city, boasting an exceptional local arts scene and plenty to explore. Join an expert guide for a tour of the city, with highlights including local artisans’ workshops, art galleries, the Rwanda National Museum and the moving Genocide Memorial, that respectfully remembers the victims of the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. Here you can purchase artwork and crafts created by a local cooperative made up of widows of the genocide.

place Day 3 to 5 Akagera National Park, Rwanda
Day 3 to 5 Accommodation

Akagera National Park, Rwanda

Akagera National Park hugs the border with Tanzania, boasting a varied landscape of woodland, mountains, savannah and swaps. Within this, a range of wildlife awaits – including lion, zebra, elephant, hippo and giraffe – as well as a breathtaking diversity of birds. Head out on game drives – either in the morning, afternoon or at night – and walking safaris with expert guides, in search of the amazing animals. What’s more, over 500 bird species have been recorded in Akagera, making it a paradise for bird watchers. Magashi Camp overlooks the beautiful waters of Lake Rwanyakazinga, making boating and catch-and-release fishing other fantastic ways to spend your time.

place Day 5 to 8 Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
Day 5 to 8 Accommodation

Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

Volcanoes National Park – one of the oldest on the African continent – is where Rwanda’s famous mountain gorillas reside, a species with which we share around 98% of our DNA! Join an expert guide and tracker (many of which have lived in or near the park their entire lives) as you trek in search of these incredible animals, learning more about their unique behaviours and conservation. Other activities to enjoy while you’re here include a cycle around scenic lakes, river canoeing, and a hike to Mount Bisoke, marvelling at its deep crater lake. You can also visit the mysterious Buhanga Eco Park, a small sacred forest that houses ancient trees, sacred springs, a range of birds and butterflies, and an enchanting network of walking trails.

place Day 8 to 11 Nyungwe Forest National Park, Rwanda
Day 8 to 11 Accommodation

Nyungwe Forest National Park, Rwanda

Your final destination is the gloriously green Nyungwe Forest National Park, characterised by lush jungle, bamboo forests and tea terraces shrouded in mist. From your base of One&Only Nyungwe House, head into the ancient rainforest. Enjoy the thrilling Canopy Walk, coming face-to-face with primates, butterflies and birds, before trekking along the wonderful waterfall trail. Nyungwe is home to 310 species of bird, making a dedicated bird-watching excursion a must. You can also hike the park’s highest peak, Bigugu. If it's a clear day, you may enjoy views of Lake Kivu and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Back at the hotel, a range of authentically Rwandan experiences await – from tea picking to hilltop archery. On your final day, enjoy the morning at your leisure before your return flight to the UK.
