ALBERTA, CANADA

The Last of Us

The Last of Us caused a storm in the world of small talk, drawing in millions of viewers. Although the series depicted a treacherous journey across an apocalyptic US, it was actually filmed across Alberta. The Canadian Rockies come into the scene during episode six, with dramatic shots of a snow-covered Canmore Engine Bridge, whilst Alberta's awe-inspiring Bow Valley Provincial Park was the backdrop to Ellie and Joel's hike in the tear-jerking season finale. Jump into these incredible scenes (minus the Cordyceps!) at Fairmont Banff Springs, close to the Canadian Rockies, with rooms overlooking Bow Valley.

THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, USA

Jurassic Park

Despite being sold to us as 'Isla Nublar', the luscious landscapes of Jurassic Park were in fact filmed on the Hawaiian Islands. The rocky shores of Maui's coast can be spotted as the team first approach Jurassic Park by helicopter - with this part of the island now even dubbed 'Jurassic Rock'. And over on Oahu at Kualoa Ranch, you'll find more iconic scenes such as where Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum's characters first spot a wandering Brachiosaurus! Stay at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea for oceanfront glamour to complement your escapades in Maui, whilst the acclaimed Halekulani is perfect for your Oahu adventures.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

The Tourist

The directors of the suspenseful six-part drama series The Tourist wanted the location to be as realistic yet remote as possible, and with such vastness and diversity, no one does Australia quite like, well, Australia. Setting the scene of the dusty Outback in the first few episodes, as Jamie Dornan's character drives through Australia's expansive landscape, is the incredible formation and rugged beauty of Flinders Ranges. To experience the immensity of the Outback and this incredible location for yourself, Arkaba has the perfect setting amongst the red mountains.

AMANZOE, GREECE

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

The sequel to the Daniel Craig-led murder mystery Knives Out became an instant whodunnit hit. And this time, 'the world's greatest detective' was headed to billionaire Miles Bron's Greek island home for a murder mystery party. In reality, the luxe island retreat at the centre of the show is the secluded and sublime Amanzoe - bar the CGI 'glass onion'. Whilst Amanzoe isn't quite the private island that Bron flaunted, it is an exclusive paradise that boasts impeccable views of the Aegean Sea and Grecian olive groves, and most definitely promises the untapped opulence that 'The Disruptors' were treated to.

BARBADOS

Outer Banks

The action-packed treasure hunt series Outer Banks . has proven to be popular with many Netflix watchers. The end of season one saw the group stranded in the Bahamas - or so we thought. These sun-soaked scenes are actually filmed in Barbados - and the hotel that provides shelter to John and Sarah in the early scenes of season two is the private and paradisical Fairmont Royal Pavilion. Though you're (hopefully) not a wanted criminal, the hotel certainly provides idyllic respite to all discerning travellers, with half a mile of immaculate white-sand beach, expertly appointed bedrooms and exceptional service.

IGUAZU FALLS, BRAZIL

Black Panther

As a natural wonder of South America and an immense force of nature, it's no wonder that Iguazu Falls is the backdrop to some high-stakes scenes of a superhero film. In Black Panther, the UNESCO World Heritage Site becomes 'Warrior Falls' - Wakanda's ceremonial fighting ground for those challenging for the throne or role of Black Panther. The film features stunning aerial sequences of the thunderous and cascading falls, which even made for an impactful opening to the trailer. So close to the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Falls that you can see the spray is Hotel Das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel, and you'll even have access to exclusive tours of the Falls during your stay.

PARIS, FRANCE

Inception and Emily In Paris

Christopher Nolan's mind-bending marvel had everyone talking. And one scene in particular became a firm favourite with Inception viewers, and the backdrop to the now iconic film poster. As Leonardo Di Caprio's character introduces Elliot Page's to the idea of shared dreaming, we see them sat at a quintessentially Parisian café - now a restaurant called Il Russo - which begins to explode as they talk. As the characters walk through this dream-version of Paris, we also see the Pont de Bir- Hakeim bridge over the Seine become morphed as the city starts to fold itself in half. Not far from these famous scenes in the heart of the city is La Réserve Paris Hotel and Spa a dreamy escape that overlooks the Seine, Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élysées.
Despite being an icon of the city, the Eiffel Tower itself is seldom used in filming, often playing a supporting role to simply showcase Paris' romantic allure. However, the opening scene of Emily in Paris' third season saw Emily contemplating her season two cliff-hanger decision on the viewing platform of this Parisian icon. Spoiler alert - the Tower's commanding position in the heart of the city becomes a significant player in this scene, drawing attention to this famous landmark. You also see Lily Collins and the cast visiting Le Jules Verne, a one Michelin star restaurant with views across Paris from its floor-to-ceiling windows on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower.
