Day 1 to 3 Welcome to Lima, Peru

Arrive in Lima and take a private car transfer to the Country Club Lima Hotel, where you will spend two nights before your cruise. Spend time exploring the “City of Kings” on a guided tour, discover the historic centre’s stunning architecture and experience the vibrant mix of cultures and traditions that have shaped Lima's identity. On your third day in the city, you’ll check out of your hotel and take a short flight to Iquitos where you will board the Aria Amazon.

Today’s adventure begins on the Ucayali River, the Amazon's birthplace. Experience the thrill of kayaking or canoeing through the inky waters of Clavero Lake, or gain insight into local traditions by exploring a remote Ucayali River village. When darkness falls, embark on a thrilling expedition along the Yarapa River to encounter the Amazon's elusive nocturnal creatures.

Spend the day exploring everything the amazon has to offer, from vibrant wildlife to verdant greenery. Choose from many exciting excursions and spend the day learning something new about the local area – venture out on a jungle walk and uncover the Amazonian flora and fauna or learn about the Tahuayo River through stories from a naturalist guide.

Nestled between the Marañón and Ucayali Rivers lies Nauta, one of the Amazon's oldest inhabited regions. Immerse yourself in local life by visiting the vibrant market, filled with the region's fresh fish, fruits and vegetables or visit the birthplace of the Amazon River.

On day seven, experience Amazonian life as you glide along the Marañón River, keeping a look out for one of the 64 rare bird species native to the area. Alternatively, search for sloths, egrets, parrots and the elusive Taricaya turtle before visiting an Amazon village and witnessing an Aguaje palm harvesting.

An early start promises a delightful picnic lunch in the heart of the Amazon, where the sounds of the jungle create a serene ambiance. Experience the thrill of fishing in the Samiria River's dark waters, followed by a choice of jungle exploration, canoeing, kayaking or swimming in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. As the day draws to a close, enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Ucayali River and witness a breathtaking sunset.

After spending the morning venturing through this part of the Amazon by foot, canoe or kayak, you’ll head to a local indigenous village to learn about local life. Spend time with the local community and take the opportunity to marvel at colossal water lilies, whose leaves can expand to a massive ten feet in diameter. These extraordinary plants are famously sturdy, able to bear the weight of hundreds of pounds without sinking.

Today you’ll disembark the Aria Amazon in Nauta, taking the time to tour the town with a local guide and even visiting a local manatee rescue centre on your way to the Iquitos airport for your flight to Cusco. After your flight you’ll head to Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Valle Sagrado in the Sacred Valley where you’ll stay for two nights.

Waking up early, today’s adventure begins with an early morning ascent to the iconic Machu Picchu. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Inca history as your knowledgeable guide unveils the secrets of this ancient citadel. A UNESCO World Heritage site that’s invisible from below, Machu Picchu is a breathtaking testament to the Inca Empire's architectural and engineering prowess. After a day of exploration, journey by train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a comfortable coach transfer to the luxurious Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Cusco.

Perched high in the Andes, Cusco was once the mighty heart of the Inca Empire. Today, this captivating city invites you to wander its cobblestone streets, admire vibrant textiles and explore its art galleries on an all-encompassing city tour.

Day 15 Cusco, Fly to Lima

After a morning exploring San Blas on a walking tour, today you’ll head to the airport and fly back to Lima where you will stay overnight at the Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport hotel.

Day 16 Lima

On your final day in Peru, you’ll check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
