Beaches

Away from the chaotic cities and madness of the markets, Morocco’s coastline provides plenty of beautiful beaches on which to kick back and relax. Bordering both the Mediterranean and Atlantic seas, even the beach life is diverse in this North African haven. Atlantic coastal resort, Agadir, boasts a luxurious beach scene with plenty of sunbathing spots and an expansive marina to admire, whilst the idyllic bay in Essaouira boasts some of the best water sport opportunities in Morocco.

Cuisine

From the moment you arrive in Morocco, you’ll notice the aroma of spices drifting through the air - a consistent ingredient in whatever your decided delicacy. Moroccan food is full of flavour and creative with colour, making it ever more enticing and utterly delicious. Tantalising tajine is a popular choice with locals and visitors alike, as well as a strong street food culture featuring fresh salads, tangy merguez sausages and a host of other spice-fuelled snacks — your taste buds will be spoilt for choice.

Cuisine
Medina of Fez

An ancient city and former capital of Morocco, the Medina of Fez is an incredible cultural landmark. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the buildings and monuments in the medina – including madrasas, palaces, residences and mosques - date from the 13th and 14th centuries, whilst the city is the largest car-free zone in the world. Stroll down the ancient streets, discovering emblems of Morocco’s rich heritage, or take the opportunity to visit the world’s oldest university, Al-Qarawiyyin.

Medina of Fez
Sahara Desert

The world’s largest desert covering over 9 million square kilometres across North Africa, the Sahara, is sculpted to perfection by the ever-changing winds. One of the most accessible places to visit this spectacle, Morocco can guide you directly to the heart of the orange-toned dunes — travel with a thrill by 4x4 or let a camel take you on a slow stroll through the sands. Visitors can even spend a night sleeping in the Sahara at a luxury camp, to truly embrace this unique environment.

Shopping

Shopping amongst the souks has become traditional to the Moroccan way of life. Talented traders handcraft many of the products sold throughout the bustling market places, adding that quaint and personal touch to each purchase. Some of Morocco’s most famed souvenirs include magnificent rugs, brightly-coloured baskets and charming ceramics. Concept shops not to be missed include 33 Rue Majorelle, featuring products from up-and-coming designers, the fashion haven Max & Jan showcasing Moroccan-made items that have been sold in destinations, including Ibiza and St. Tropez, and the unusual Majorelle Gardens shop inside Yves’ Saint Laurent’s former home.
