Luxury Holidays At Capella Singapore

Spread across 30-acres of lush hillside overlooking the South China Sea, Capella Singapore offers a serene stay just outside of the city. A restored, red-tiled 1880s colonial building houses the reception area, which leads through to more contemporary buildings – together housing over 900 pieces of art - and a triple-tiered swimming pool overlooking the sea. Indulge in a treatment at the Auriga Spa, offering a new wellness philosophy based on the phases of the moon, or choose from four fantastic dining options – ranging from Cantonese fine dining to Mediterranean delights. The whole family will love discovering the delights of sunny Sentosa Island, home to golden beaches, lush rainforests, a scenic cable car and various cutting-edge adventure attractions.

Choose from a menu of holistic treatments that can be tailored to you, using completely natural products from the Organic Pharmacy. There are also dedicated detox programmes, wellness journeys and signature experiences – including for couples and mothers-to-be. Climate

For the most part, Singapore remains hot and humid throughout the year, with tropical temperatures rarely dipping lower than 20°C. From the beginning of November until mid-March, the north east monsoon brings cooler temperatures, whilst daily showers can last for long periods of time and can be heavy. The south west monsoon (June to September) brings higher temperatures, but the least amount of rainfall. Whenever you explore beguiling Singapore, we advise that you carry a bottle of water for hydration as well as an umbrella, whilst a light cover up may be useful for when you check out the sleek, air-conditioned shopping malls.

Gardens by the Bay

Completely unique and captivating from the moment you arrive, visit the 101-hectare fantasy land that is Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay. Costing a staggering S$1 billion, the botanic garden is filled with space-age bio domes, high-tech, twinkling Supertrees and mind-boggling sculptures. Discover the Flower Dome, replicating the dry Mediterranean climate, before strolling through the tropical, waterfall-filled, Cloud Forest. For inimitable views of this fascinating garden, ride the futuristic OCBC Skyway through the Supertrees, before catching the truly spectacular Garden Rhapsody show in the evening.

Prepare to be fascinated and educated as you delve into Singapore’s colourful and multicultural heritage. Travel back in time to the late-19th and early-20th century as you explore the Chinatown Heritage Centre’s reconstructed rooms, before strolling through the glorious sights and smells of Little India, perhaps even stopping to have your future read by a fortune teller. If your cultural cravings still aren’t satisfied, Singapore is home to a huge variety of intriguing and informative museums and galleries; the oldest, The National Museum, houses fascinating, historical Singapore treasures, while Singapore Art Museum showcases a selection of contemporary Asian artwork.

Dining

Food in Singapore, as in much of Asia, is a national pastime and, with such a wealth of dining options to discover, you certainly won't go hungry. The riverside quays feature an eclectic mix of restaurants and alfresco dining, whilst the multi-cultural districts – such as Chinatown and Little India – offer truly authentic and utterly delicious food of their nations. For fine dining, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore offers an exquisite choice of Italian, Cantonese, American Steakhouse and Japanese cuisine, whilst Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s selection of world-class, award-winning, restaurants includes Shang Palace, which boasts an illustrious 45-year history and showcases authentic Cantonese cuisine.

Dining
Family

An island of thrills, Singapore boasts countless attractions that offer endless fun for the whole family. Head to the glorious Universal Studios Singapore – south east Asia's first Hollywood movie theme park – featuring an enticing selection of attractions, rides and entertainment for families and thrill-seekers, set in seven, uniquely-designed, movie zones. Another unforgettable day out, Singapore Zoo comprises 26 stunning hectares of spacious, naturalistic enclosures that house some cheeky, charming and fascinating animals – including orangutans, Malaysian Flying Foxes and White Tigers. Not only this, the zoo is home to the fun-filled Rainforest Kidszworld – a wonderland of slides, swings, pony rides and farmyard animals.

Family
Shopping

With a huge variety of glorious shopping opportunities, Singapore is the perfect destination for some good old retail therapy. For stunning jewellery, Mustafa Centre in Little India is open 24 hours, whilst Singapore’s famous Orchard Road – stretching over two kilometres – is world-renowned for its DFS (Duty Free Shopping) Galleria Scottswalk, the perfect place to grab a range of luxury goods, including watches, handbags and cosmetics. Alongside the most exclusive designer brands and elegant stores, Singapore offers a quirkier shopping scene; head to bustling Clarke Quay and spend the afternoon in the charming antique shops or, on a Sunday, get lost in the flea market.
