Highlights
Attractions/Sightseeing
A leisurely hack along the curves of the coastline, driving through the tropical forests or snorkelling in the shallows; there are many ways to see the islands and, with such abundant beauty at every turn, you’ll find yourself seeking out new spots each time. Having provided the backdrop for ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ films, this region is as close to real life Treasure Island as one could hope. Combining the Jack Sparrow fantasy with signature luxury, day cruises around the neighbouring islands and the incredible Tobago Cays, a marine conservation site within immaculate uninhabited islands, can be arranged by sail or power boats and by private charter if desired.
Golf
Whilst these islands are too small to incorporate adequate golf facilities, there is an award-winning championship course located on the neighbouring island of Canouan and transfers can be arranged during your Mustique getaway. Described as a golfer’s heaven, the island’s natural terrain lends itself to being a thrilling, one-of-a-kind course with unbelievable views on every green.
Spa
Relaxation is the ultimate aspiration throughout these islands. From lazy afternoons spent lounging on a yacht or catamaran to leisurely beach strolls at sunset, The Grenadines has no end to relaxing and rejuvenating recreations. The Cotton House Spa is the ultimate destination for a complete body restoration. Set in sumptuous surroundings within the hotel’s manicured grounds, the Spa has four treatment rooms and a relaxation room with breathtaking views of the tranquil turquoise waters. The Hillside Spa located on Petit St Vincent Island Resort features open-air treatment rooms within the island’s lush forest, in a decadent treehouse-style structure above Marni Hill, where guests can enjoy the spa’s luxuries to the soothing sounds of hummingbirds.
Diving
Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of the legendary Jacques-Yves Cousteau, recently opened the Jean-Michel Cousteau Caribbean Diving Center on Petit St Vincent and guests can partake in private lessons, courses or specialist dives under the team’s experienced eyes. The waters surrounding Petit St Vincent are home to many species of tropical fish and coral and the island’s Diving Centre offers the opportunity to explore and uncover the many hidden treasures of the underwater kingdom. The Diving Centre has a dedicated children’s ‘Bubble Maker’ courses for budding divers and there is surely no better place to learn than on a private Caribbean island!
Adventure
Whilst the islands are synonymous with a slower pace, free from the demands of everyday life, there is still an impressive amount of activities available. The Caribbean’s invitingly clear waters make it one of the world’s best spots for watersports, diving and sailing. Mustique is particularly famous for its scuba-diving and the region has a well-established eco-conservation charter which ensures the most professional practices are adhered to with respect for the environment and the diver. The volcanic and fertile nature of the Caribbean islands also makes it a popular hiking region and there are many trails and treks throughout the Grenadines.
